Geometers Get Crafty

“We’re transitioning from two dimensions into three in Geometry right now, and what better way to do it than folding nets! This project gave the students a chance to get hands-on with the geometry (a rare event this year) by cutting out and assembling these paper models at home. Not only does this strengthen their visual-spatial reasoning, but it lets them get creative and add a bit of color! Some students went above and beyond and tackled a larger, more complex polyhedron – such as the stellated dodecahedron in the middle-right image (it’s the one with the spikes).”
