Education to Employment: Lunch and learn about careers

In the spirit of Knights helping Knights, and the Lake County business community helping our students, Cristo Rey St. Martin is looking to alumni and other area business persons to share their professional and personal experience and expertise with current CRSM students.

New this year, CRSM is launching a series of Monday “Lunch and Learn” sessions in which alumni and experienced business people from different career fields come to campus once a month to offer students career advice about their particular field of expertise and share their insights on what it takes to make a footprint in today’s world. Our hope is that the connections made through this new program will help prepare students for a successful future and leave a lasting impact on the school community.

Now we need YOU! We are looking to create a robust network of alumni and area professionals who are willing to participate as panelists for discussions on various career paths – from your particular educational path, stepping stones of your career and/or volunteer opportunities related to a particular career path.  The goal is to share your wisdom and advice about life beyond high school with our students and offer them a chance to ask questions. These sessions are scheduled from 11:40-12:45 (during our school lunch periods) at CRSM’s campus on the following dates and following topics:

October 23rd– Engineering
November 20th– Healthcare
January 22nd– Business
February 26th– Law
March 19th– Environmental Science
April 16th– Architecture & Design

We are looking not only for professionals in one of the fields above, but also for current college students with career aspirations in one of the above fields to share information about the courses they are taking and the rigor of their studies, as well as recent college grads who can talk about their job search and their early career experiences.

If you are willing to help us and interested in participating on one of the dates listed above, please contact Kristen Watson at
