Cristo Rey Network Principals Travel to Waukegan for Inspiration

On Jan, 25, 2017 we welcomed principals from across the Cristo Rey Network to observe in our classrooms and learn about how we do things here. The annual Cristo Rey Network principal’s meeting took place in Chicago, but attendees made the 48 mile trek to Waukegan for the day.

About 20 principals from Cristo Rey schools across the country toured CRSM to learn more about what we are doing to provide successful academic, enrichment and work-study opportunities for our school. In an evaluation of the visit, the Cristo Rey Network noted that “Principals were amazed by the Culture of Learning [at CRSM].  Principals were particularly impressed with the seriousness of purpose communicated by all students through their actions and words.  The Culture of Learning was repeatedly identified as special and the product of time spent intentionally supporting students in building a strong academic identity.”

Cristo Rey St. Martin leads the Network in retention of students from freshmen to senior year and is considered a leader in student academic achievement among all of the Network schools.
